Speed Skating Canada

SHORT TRACK TEAMS

Winners of 37 Olympic and over 200 World Championship medals, Canadians have long been a dominant force in short track speed skating. Headquartered at the historic Maurice Richard Arena in Montreal, the National High Performance Program continues to develop some of the top skaters and relay teams in the world.

NATIONAL TEAM

The Canadian short track National Team is comprised of the top ranked skaters in the country, based on the previous year’s results. These skaters are the cream of the crop and consistently compete – and win medals – at the highest international levels. You’ll see them representing their country on the World Cup circuit, as well as at the World Championships and Olympic Games.

NextGen Team

The Canadian short track NextGen Team is made up of the skaters with future podium potential, who have earned their spot based on the previous year’s results and rankings. These up-and-coming skaters can be selected to compete at various events on the international stage, from NextGen competitions to World Cups and World Championships.
