Connor Howe

BIOGRAPHY

A recent medalist at the national and international levels, Canmore native Connor Howe is one of Canada’s most promising long track speed skaters.

Howe represented Canada three times at ISU World Junior Championships before making his debut for the senior National Team during the 2018-2019 season and has been a mainstay on the international circuit ever since, appearing in multiple World Cups and World Championships. A middle distance specialist, he finished sixth in the 1500m and tenth in the 1000m at the 2021 ISU World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships. He also captured the silver medal in the 8-lap Team Pursuit alongside teammates Ted-Jan Bloemen and Jordan Belchos at the same event.

Howe received the Peter Williamson Memorial Bursary – awarded annually to aspiring skaters who best combine athletic and scholastic achievements – in both 2019 and 2021. He was also named Junior Long Track Speed Skater of the Year at both the 2018/19 and 2016/17 Alberta Speed Skating Awards.
